The Department of Clinical Pathology occupies the second floor of the Academic
Building. It is considered the backbone of the main university hospital serving
Northwest Delta and they are; Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh and Beheira
governorates. The department also conducts many postgraduate scientific
research for master's and doctoral researchers. In addition to the laboratory of
the Shatby Children Hospital, the laboratory of Hadera Hospital ,the laboratory
of the New Education Hospital, the laboratory of Smouha Hospital, the laboratory
of Moussa Hospital and the laboratory of Borg El Arab oncology hospital.

The Department of Pathology consists of the following units: 1. The main laboratory (El Meery Hospital laboratory) that includes the following : 1) Clinical Chemistry laboratory. 2) Hormonal and tumor markers laboratory. 3) hematology laboratory 4) coagulation laboratory 5) Immunology laboratory 6) Flow cytometry laboratory 7) Cytogenetics laboratory 8) Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) laboratory 9) molecular biology laboratory 10) Bone marrow Biopsy processing and Immunohistological staining laboratory 2. Emergency lab: It is fully equipped with automated devices to serve the hospital around the clock 24 hour. 3. El Shatby Hospital Laboratory. 4. Hadera Hospital Laboratory 5. New Teaching Hospital Laboratory 6. Smouha Hospital Laboratory 7.Moussa Hospital laboratory 8. Borg El Arab oncology Hospital Laboratory 9.Blood bank.
